Laurel is a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the state of Florida. She provides counseling services for individuals, couples, and families. The services that are offered include in-person and/or phone sessions, advice/coaching sessions via phone, counseling intensives and speaking engagements upon request.
My Therapeutic Approach
A variety of counseling services are offered with the goal of providing renewed Peace, Strength, and Direction when life seems overwhelming. I believe that God created each one of us as a unique and complex being and use a whole person methodology in my counseling (attending to the emotional, relational, mental, physical, and spiritual parts of each person). Additionally, I take a Christian approach, helping individuals discover and live out the plan that God has for their lives and for their relationships.
My Credentials and Experience
I am triple certified as a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the state of Florida. I combine Biblical Truth with the Truths in the fields of Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy to help heal individuals and their relationships. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and use a combination of both throughout the counseling process. My practice focuses on individual and relational counseling; often both are utilized in the change process. I opened my private practice in 2009 and have one location in Lutz, Florida. I consistently have a waiting list; however, I can typically get new clients in within four weeks of an appointment request.
